I was denied Medicaid/All Kids after applying for coverage through Get Covered Illinois and Open Enrollment (OE) has ended, how can I get coverage through Get Covered Illinois?

If you are denied eligibility for Illinois Medicaid or All Kids after applying for coverage through Get Covered Illinois during Open Enrollment, and the Open Enrollment period has ended, don’t worry! A Special Enrollment Period (SEP) will automatically be opened for you to come back to Get Covered Illinois to enroll in coverage. Just log into your Get Covered Illinois account and continue to select the right health coverage for your needs and budget.

Please note:

1. Customers must enroll in plan within 60 days of their Illinois Medicaid or All Kids denial. 
2. Coverage will become effective once you have paid your first month’s premium.
3. Need a different start date? If you originally applied through Get Covered Illinois, contact us and request that your coverage start be moved back to the date it would have started if Get Covered Illinois had originally determined you eligible for a plan through Get Covered Illinois (provided complete premium payment is made for the retroactive period).
