All plans through Get Covered Illinois include coverage for prescription drugs. You may be able to buy other medications, but medications covered by your plan will usually be less expensive.
You have the ability to see what plans offered through Get Covered Illinois cover certain prescription medications before you apply for and enroll in coverage. This tool can help you better understand the coverage that is right for you before you actually apply:

- Go to GetCoveredIlinois.gov and click 'Enroll now.' You can either log in or click 'Browse for health & dental plans' to browse plans.
- Enter your household and income information.
- An optional questionnaire will then pop up on the next screen. Fill out the appropriate provider information. Enter a prescription name and dosage, so the plans that Get Covered Illinois generates for you will say if that prescription is covered.
- Plans will either have one of two signs letting you know if the brand name prescription or the generic version is covered.
