If you have a disability, you have a number of options for health coverage with Get Covered Illinois.
If you have a disability and currently have Medicaid or Medicare, you're considered covered under the health care law and don't need a Get Covered Illinois plan.
However, if you have a disability, don’t qualify for disability benefits and need health coverage, Get Covered Illinois encourages you to create a Get Covered Illinois account on www.GetCovered.Illinois.Gov and fill out a Get Covered Illinois health coverage enrollment application. This is the best way to find out if you qualify for a private health plan with premium tax credits and other financial assistance based on your income.
Call the Get Covered Illinois Customer Assistance Center if you need assistance in creating your Get Covered Illinois account and filling out your enrollment application by calling 1-866-311-1119.
People with disabilities have rights and protections under the health care law, including coverage for pre-existing conditions, no annual or lifetime coverage limits, and free preventive care.
